There are many opinions on when and how people could or should resume in-person gatherings, including for faith community practices like worship, study, fellowship and service. The medical and scientific experts overwhelmingly recommend extreme caution when gathering, the use of masks and social distancing (no exceptions). AND, sadly, NO PUBLIC SINGING! In some areas, churches that have opened for worship indoors have experienced outbreaks among their people, including serious illness and sometimes death. We really are eager to see each other, but that seems to high a price to pay.
So, for now, the Elders of Central have agreed that we are still in "wait and see" mode. We will watch as others "experiment" with gathering. We will observe what seems to be safest for all concerned. We will continue to listen to the medical and scientific community on what they deem safest. We will regularly check with other faith leaders to hear what they are learning. What will worship look like when we do gather? What will we be able to do safely, and what will be unwise? We really don't know yet. We want to hear from you. How is at home / online worship going for you? Are you managing the technology ok? Are you able to hear and understand the music and speaking? Are you finding what you need to make your space for worship sacred in this time? Are you "chompin' at the bit" to get back, or are you ultra-cautious and planning to wait till there's a vaccine? Contact us and let us know. IN THE MEANTIME... Please join us online for Bible Study at 9:30am on Zoom and Worship at 11am on Zoom and Facebook. Visit our home page for the latest links and updates. You can also contact us to sign up for a weekly small group gathering for fellowship, support, and general "check in".
